This series began the summer of 2023, after making over 350 vibrant EnergyPortrait soul paintings in a span of two years. I wanted to give my eyes a reset to go more inward within my truth. The color black is part of my EnergyPortrait background color that helps bring to my inner stillness and symbolize the interconnectedness of all.
I felt guided to make an entire wave in black to cleanse my energy and I was stunned by how instantly I felt comfort, safety and love energy surround me. In 2021, I made my EnergyPortrait wave which has a black background. It gave me an instant knowing and understanding to why I love the night sky and star gazing-- being able to feel my vastness through this part of nature. The paintings in this series portray pieces of me to welcome in your knowing and ultimate freedom from self. In a way, it's like I'm holding space for you within this series of paintings.
